My baby just turned 6 months today and she isnt rolling over at all. She wont roll over from stomach to back or back to stomach. She can almost sit without support but she wont roll over. What can I do to help her through this process. I have tried teaching her how to go back and forth but it doesnt seem to work.

Rollover schmollover! Don't worry, my babies never rolled over and all their developmental milestones were fine.

Relax. She only just turned 6 months. Almost sitting without support at that age is a good thing. Keep playing with her and see if she will role. Piece of advice, whenever you have a thought or concern about your baby, you shouldn't hesitate to contact your pediatrician. Good luck.

Relax! It's only a guideline not a rule that all babies rollover by this age. My son never crawled! He scooted then climbed then walked. Just to see, don't dress her in too much clothing, put her on a blanket on her stomach on the floor. The floor is firmer and will make it easier. Hope it works! Good Luck! =)

Be patient first off. Put something she normally is not allowed to have and therefore very intriguing just out of reach. (keys work wonderful)...let her reach and wiggle around to get them. Let her have them for a moment as a reward and then put them out of reach again, allowing her to learn to maneuver herself around. You can't teach her how to roll over because you can't "tell" her which muscles to use, only put objects out of reach or out of the way so that she can teach herself.

Leave her alone. She will learn it when she needs too. If you force her to do it now, you might create a stage of being afraid of you.

Children are not like the books you read. They don't develop as each page suggests! If they did then my son would be busting all the rules..wait..he already is following his own line outside the basic curve.

Babies learn things in their own time. There's nothing wrong with her not rolling at this point in time. I and my sister are perfect examples: we BOTH learned to walk before we learned to crawl.

My son had issues like that because he was premature and he has an OT. She would always gently hold one side of his hip and pretty much put him through slow motion for awhile so he would catch on then she would try with toys and such. Good luck!! PS: you could ask your ped. for some recommendation excorsizes!!

Every baby learns at different speeds. Let your baby take her time. With your continued help your baby will get it soon enough. Let her learn at her own pace.
