Things are not as victorious as you say. The enemy controls most of the media in this country, and a good portion of the Judiciary and Legislative branches. When our troops return, I doubt they will show appreciation to those who have continually stabbed them in the back in a greedy quest for political power.

Perhaps you need a little history lesson. FDR, a democrat, was president when we entered WWII. Prior to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, FDR had an isolationist policy, and although assistance was requested by European countries, stayed out of the war until we were attacked. That's a big difference from Iraq, a country that did nothing to provoke this war. (Afghanistan is different, that country is linked to attacks on the US). Have we truly liberated the Iraqi people? Did they want or ask for our assistance? Do they want a democracy? Does every country have to be run just like ours to be correct or isn't there room for other ideas? If we are in the business of liberating countries from horrible dictators and setting up democracies so the people can have freedom then why not Cuba or Haiti? It is not "cut & run" time. It is time to recognize that we are in way over our heads in a country that does not want our assistance. Just like a house guest that has overstayed his or her welcome, it is time to recognize that we have done everything we can and to now leave Iraq to its own devices as their government has requested.
