It is never a good idea to send cash by mail. The companies that advertise products on TV are usually just telemarketing companies that act as brokers for the company actually selling the products. The TV ads have operators accepting calls 24 hrs. The company selling the product doesn't have salespeople working 24 hrs a day. They don't want cash sent because YOU have no proof that you DID send it if it is lost. You can't prove how much you sent, if they say you're short $20. etc. Cheques, credit vouchers, and money orders are traceable and harder to cash or steal. Not accepting cash is protecting both parties from theft. They no longer ship COD because to many people did not want the item when they shipped it, and they were losing money due to shipping Costs etc.
