Do some research on meditation I totally love it if it doesn't fix your problem it will cause you to realize it. No one here can tell you whats wrong with yourself but maybe give suggestions on how you can find out. Also you are going through a tome in your life (you know what I'm talkin about) where you will get these feelings don't worry those feelings are not U and will subside some time in the near future.

You didn't name anything about your life that seems like it would make you happy. I mean, an understanding bf is nice, but at 13? You're far too young, and it's depressing to realize you're engaged in stupid behavior like that, I'm sure. Also, who cares if riches abound? Popularity is meangingless, as you know.

What's going on in your family life? See, I would think a happy 13 year old would say - i have a great life, my parents are loving and supportive, my siblings are fun, i play the tuba really well, etc. But, no mention of family life. Is that why you're despondent? Are the grownups in your life selfish self-absorbed dolts?

Did you grow up in day care? That leaves lots of kids with depression.

Sometimes, we get depressed because we are not meeting our own goals and our own standards. Depression is a way of telling ourselves to get on the stick.

Or, depression can be a chemical imbalance requiring meds. If it runs in your family, that might be the case for you.

Otherwise, the clues are in your life and the solutions are at your fingertips.

Hey,

Sorry to hear about your feelings, it is really not great to feel depressed all the time. First thing though, don't feel guilty for feeling as you do. You may think "oh well I have this great life so why should I feel this way when there are many others worse off than me?" Don't think like that, everything is realitive, yes, but it is no use comparing yourself to others because there is always going to be someone more worse off than yourself.

So, why do you feel depressed? Well, it could be a number of reasons and with out knowing you it is difficult to narrow the reasons down to one specific one so I shall give you a few possible reasons why you might not be feeling the greatest.

You are really young to be in High school and though you are obviously do well on the academic side of it, it is still a major change in your life. Perhaps you just need to give your body a little more time to adjust to the new experience.

Perhaps you may be weighed down with thoughts about your future and where to go from here.

Perhaps you biologically have lower seritonen levels (ie. mild depression).

Perhaps your diet is a bit off and you need more vitamins, minerals, ice cream :) etc.

Perhaps you don't get the best sleep and that puts you off everyday.

Hope this helps,

Suzanne

Hmmm I quote. MY LIFE SEEMS GREAT. It sounds like you are looking at the positive things in your life and wondering why you still are depressed. Depression hits the best of people dear. There could be an underlying reason of why you have it. Chemical Imbalance, hormonal reasons, etc. Since the school councelor apparently sucks. Its time to find someone who will really listen to what you are dealing with. Find someone who has the access to get you the help. You are not a freak, your feelings are not uncommon. Its ok to ask for help, even those who are viewed as having everything. When it comes down to it, we are all just human. You need some immediate help. Find a pastor, a principle, a teacher. Someone who you really can trust to help in your dire of need. Boyfriend can only be there for you for emotional support dear, its up to you to seek the help you need. MAKE IT LOUD AND CLEAR. First things first, stop pretending everything is alright, because its clearly not. This is deeply bothering you. Find the resources to help you. YOU DESERVE IT.

Well take a moment to think about it. What is the problem that cause you to feel depressed? Are your parents always working and never have time for you? Do you lack the attention at home? If so, maybe this is something you wanna work out with them. What do you enjoy doing? Why not have fun with your friends and boyfriend, like go to the movies, hang out somewhere, shopping etc. Anyway, do whatever that makes you happy, as long as it doesn't involve sex and drugs. Good luck!

Despite all the things that seem to be so positive in your life, it's clear that there is something really lacking in your life. I'd guess based on what's not mentioned in your question, that your relationship with your parents or family members is not all that you wish it could be. It's natural at your age to go through a lot of emotions but if you're dwellling on this everyday, it would help a lot to sit one-one-one with your parents to talk about this openly and honestly. I would also recommend that you and your family seek professional family counseling. It would help a lot. Good luck and happiness to you.

Well sorry to say this it si always the one who you are jealous of that are having it the hardest. In some kids eyes you are having the dream world and look you cant even enjoy it, well maybe if you look at it like that youll start. Also if you start smiling everyday consciencly then after a while it will become a part of you. Trust me it is quite hard but you can try it if you really are motivated

Do the research. The internet is a great place to find out about stuff like this. Go through checklists of symptoms or how you feel and figure out what its all about. You may be suffering depression but don't over diagnose or worry about it. Most importantly, go and see a councellor outside of school, theyre great and they only want to help.

cause u r not happy with yourself for some reason. do u get more attention when u r sad? alot of teens feel that way at your age. just remember that u never know when it will be the end so u should live everyday like it was your last. obviously none of your friends have died yet! be happy you r alive and have so much to be happy for. if that doesn't make you change your attitude than u need to see a doctor.

wow, maybe it's just part of growing up. Maybe somethings bothering you. If so, tell your parents and they can recomend or take you to a specialist outside of school. You seem smart because usually you start high school at 14/15. good luck!
