Two of my teachers are like dating. The female is new this year, the male has been a while. They are both in their 30s. I think the problem is that this is easily seen to the student body. I haven't gone a day without hearing people talk about it. The male teacher always brings the female food and stuff. And he has lunch duty at lunch, but he goes to her room instead, leaving the kids at lunch unattended. I'm REALLY close with female. She tells me the details and people know that I know alot more about this than other students. I eat lunch with her every day, so I'm there when the male teacher comes down. Then after lunch he takes forever to leave and get back to his class, so his students have to wait outside his locked door while he is flirting. The female teaches and they are making rockets for a contest and they can't get it to work, so now the male, history teacher, is making one too. I think to get more time with her.
Is this wrong? Illegal? Unprofessional?

There is nothing wrong with 2 teachers dating, unless your school has some weird policy, but it sounds like they are neglecting their duties, which is the real issue here.

I'm more troubled that the female teacher is REALLY close with you, because she should not be sharing details of her life with a student. It shows a lack of boundaries. I'd tell her first that people are talking about them and they should limit their contact during school hours. If she doesn't take your advice, it's time to talk to the principal, because the male teacher should not be leaving kids at lunch unattended if this is his responsibility. It's probably not illegal, but it may be against school rules and it is unprofessional on both their parts.

Very unprofessional but illegal. You put in an anonymous complaint to the principal or since you are close with the teacher, tell her how you feel. Let her know you support the relationship but during school hours, they are teachers and need to act like it.

I doubt that it's illegal, but it sounds very unprofessional. There's nothing wrong with the fact that they're dating, but work is work and play is play. They should be two separate things. I would go have a confidential talk with a guidance counselor or the school principal about it. It would be even better to get a group of people to go with you to back up your concerns.
