It is an obsession that I find particularly disheartening. I am a person of a lot depth caught in a world of extreme superficiality. To me the reponse of pornography is a neuroses that needs serious social addressing.
All thoughtful comments are encouraged. I'd rather not hear from people that think I am jealous. This social disease reaches far beyond female jealousy. Thank you.

You are fighting a basic animal instinct in the male to be aroused by visual stimuli, and to enjoy being aroused.
Fighting instincts is not being deep, it is being idealistic without being realistic.
The degree to which a guy seeks out porn is the issue. Sex is not like the need for air or water. People can and do live without it, and most guys can handle the drive.
If you are surrounded by superficial guys, perhaps you are in the wrong social setting?

Well Im a female and I enjoy pornography. And Ive dated men who werent into porn very much! So not all men are obsessed with it. It just depends on the person and what it means. Like for you, 'pornography is a neuroses that needs serious social addressing', well, for me it is something that can be enjoyed and its fun to watch

Why are so many women obsessed with watching "The Bold & The Beautiful" day-time soap on TV? ESCAPISM.
Why do men watch porn? Same reason. Escapism. Temporary fantasy story-telling. Harmless. A bit of fun. That's all.
Let's make a deal. You women stop watching "The Days Of Our Lives" and we will stop watching porn. Deal?
Women watching trashy, ridiculously far-fetched TV soaps is as much a 'social disease' as pornography is.

Porn is not for everybody, and some do take it
a step too far. But there are different levels of
interest in the subject. Some people think just
because a pretty girl is pictured nude, it's porn.

Goes to the thought that we all fantisize about being with others. Well, men just like looking and admiring other females without getting into trouble. Sometimes you may want to try something.

The most likely reason why some men are attracted to porn has to do with men being visually stimulated when it comes to sexual attraction.
I know many men (like myself) who are not obsessed with pornography. Most of us are married.

Yes there are some of us who aren't.
Avoiding temptation in our society is an act of the will.
In general the sexual urge in men is greater than it is in women. It is part of God's design. for us to be so, however we have to contain and refrain except in marriage.
Be careful now, don't create laws to have us shot.
