You did nothing wrong. Somebody had to say something. The poor little baby can't speak for herself, and she is hurting the baby by smoking. Your friend will eventually come to realize that you meant her no harm. She's probably more upset by what she's hearing because she's in denial. Smoking is such a bad habit. In some ways the addiction is worse than drugs. If she doesn't come around, then there's nothing you can do. You did the right thing.

She may be a mother, but it doesn't mean she's any wiser. While you may be lying about the effect of smoking to her baby, you did it out of good intention and I don't blame you for making all the effort in the world. If she can't stop smoking for the sake of her baby, she's not a good mother and she's selfish. It has been proven that second hand smokers like her baby, have higher health risks than first hand smokers. If she already knows this, she's really selfish and should never have a baby in the first place.

okay first of all, there's this thing called spell check, use it torturing* fiance* suppose* sorry but bad spelling, irks me. about your situation, i think you were right in what you did, smoking could really hurt her unborn baby, and even after the birth of the child she still shouldn't smoke around him/her your friend probably thinks you are trying to tell her 1 how to live and 2 how to be a mom- pregnant women hate that since shes pregnant her emotions are running HIGH, call her in a few days and try to talk to her best advice i could give

what you did was something you did out of love for your friend. There are tons of research and statistics showing how bad smoking is for pregnant women and information on birth defects can be very impressive.
So, don't be upset if she can't forgive you now. She will realize later. Hopefully, her baby will be OK. But, why take any chances. Truth is worth suffering for!

Your told her the truth...you love her and you will love her baby too.... she has to come to terms with that... smoking is bad. Hopefully she will come around, and maybe if she does, dont mention it, but give her support and help her understand that everything you do when you are pregnant can have some effect on that baby. She doesn't want to have to live with that for the rest of her life.

You told her the truth... She is doing something that could harm her baby, and that isn't a lie. You did nothing wrong and if she wants to stop talking to you about it, well then at least you don't have to breath in her second hand smoke anymore!!!

I'm sorry but you are right. Talk to her and give her information on things that could happen if she keeps smoking while pregnant. Tell her sweetly that you are concerned about her, if she's still mad at you. Try and have her see a doctor about that if she doesnt think she's hurting her baby.

She should realize that you are doing her baby a favor.
She's not a true friend if she acts like this.
I'm glad you said something to her. She's killing someone and you were right in telling her she should stop.

She's only mad because you were right about the smoking and doesn't want to be reminded. If she doesn't want to be your friend anymore than she wasn't much of a friend.
