I am looking to make a machine that will pass a hockey puck that would be used in my house. This would be used to recieve then shoot a puck into a net which i already have.

any ideas? i was thinking something like a pitching machine... but is there any better / inexpensive ways?

I am not sure where you are from but in the Toronto area you can rent from one from this website www.topshotgta.com The company that makes the device is called Boni, so you can go to their website as well. If you rent the equipment maybe you can inspect it close enough to make something similar.

I don't know if this would work, but if you are working on your passing and shooting, what if you just took a piece of landscaping edging or something like that, made a curve out of it, and used it to slingshot pucks back to you?

Then, you could stack 10 or 12 pucks by your stick, pass it to the edging, the puck would zip around the edging and back at you, and you could fire the puck?

Get a Wayne Gretzky at the local sports shop. That's the best passing machine I've seen. If they're out of Wayne Gretzky's, an Adam Oates will work too. ;-)
