Try www.affordablesearch.com they have thousands of listings and maps that can show you where the property is. All of the properties listed are specifically for people of low income. Some of the listings even have pics and e-mail contact directly to the property. It's free so you might as well do a search. Searches by city and state, zip code, etc. Good luck hunting.

The Federal government (U.S. Department of Housing) has programs provided though HUD that helps people find housing with low income.

They have privately owned subsidized housing, public housing, and housing choice voucher (section 8).

The link above is a direct link for information about these programs. They provide you with an 800 number to contact a housing counseling agency. This number is a number you should call to find more information and figure out a program that is right for you.
