any diference btwen PCV-Valve (intake manifold) and the one going to the air intake do they do the same ting?2000Toyota Solara V6 ,Acura Integra 2000

pcv stands for positive crankcase ventilation. the valve is a check valve in case of engine backfire. the other hose provides air through the air cleaner to the crank case. the engine sucks the crankcase air in through the carb or throttle body and burns it. good luck, hope this helps.

the purpose of having a pcv valve is suck all the blow-by fume which is cause by engine compression combustion and burn them. the other purpose is to eliminate backfire up to the intake which can cause explosion. imagine all the blow- by fume accumulate inside the valve cover and has no where to go. just one spark and it will blow up your car. to eliminate the danger,all vehicles are require to have a pcv valve and an extra hose for back up just in case the valve malfunction
