It's important, more so for the health of the gums at that stage than the health of the teeth. And the health of the gums will affect the health of the teeth in the long run, and the overall health of the child.

U should brush them every day. I understand sometimes it's hard. I used to always forget my son and some times days would pass then I would remember. It is best to put a reminder up so u don't forget. I brush my daughters 2 times a day and help my son brush his 2 times a day.
I have a friend who's youngest daughter is 4 months older than mine and they have NEVER BRUSHED HER TEETH! She will be 2 in may! So don't feel bad, U ARE NOT A BAD MUM! lol

Although you don't necessarily need to brush them yet, you should start cleaning your infant's teeth as soon as he gets his first tooth. At first, you can just use a wash cloth to clean your infant's teeth. As he gets more, you can use a soft children's toothbrush.

What about flossing? Flossing is an important part of good dental hygiene. You can usually begin flossing once your child is about 3-4 years old, but they likely won't be able to floss on their own until they are 8-10 years old.

i would usually brush once a day. use a wash cloth if the child doesnt like the toothbrush..
U are trying to teach good habits, hence the need to have the child learn to brush their teeth

It's very important. Don't forget. Set two times a day, and make it a part of their schedule. With my kids, we do it right after breakfast, and last thing before they go to sleep.
