I have an 07 Silverado, but it's the Classic ( old body style ). I don't like the new style just yet. I only have 3k miles on it, but I've also had an 04 that I used for work. I like the trucks. I have the V6 and it's fine for me. I don't tow anything. I had the small V8 in the work truck and it pulled a 3000 lb GVW trailer just fine. Didn't have any problem with the 04. The only problem with the 07 is they came with cheap General tires that GM has replaced because they were out of round. They clamp the trucks down tight on the transports and these cheap tires never round out again. The service guy told me flat out that it's a big problem. Otherwise I'm very happy.

I've got an 04 extended cab I bought new. 5.3L 300 HP engine, OD tranny, limited slip rear end. Towing package. Only problems I had was the rear vent glass gaskets got replaced under warranty (wind noise). Other than that, its been great. Gets 14-17 mpg around down, 18-21 on the interstate.

Truck runs well, brakes are great, ride is good, seats are comfortable, controls are fairly well laid out. Stereo sounds good. I pulled a 6,000lb trailer from New Orleans to South Carolina (700 mi) and the truck did very well. 65 mph the whole way and got 15 mpg during the trip.

I have a 97 chevy silverado and like it a lot, and owned a 2000(best ride of all trucks i test drove). I have driven a ford, and dodge, but not 2007. Prefer the chevy since they have a history of mpg, ride, and reliability.
