they're both great guitars.
it depends on which one feels better to you and what sound you're looking for.
go to youtube.com and search for scotty anderson, he plays a tele, and he's one fantastic guitar player.

strats are nicer. strats can have a wider variety of sounds. the way they both sound are pretty good so it depends on personal preference. however, strats are a bit more versatile...besides, teles look weird to begin with. but that's just me
