Latitude c600 lights up like its gaoing to start but then just stops heard it might be ribbon cable but dont know where it is located anyone?

i think its the ribbon cable conecting to the lcd, computer wont even load so i can reinstall windows xp

Ive found static electricity to be a huge factor in the above stated problem.....This is especially true if you use or store your laptop alot on the floor. Your system would have to be serviced by a professional....Ribbon cable? i highly doubt that. I would say check the battery for a dead cell, power jack failure, failing power supply. Hope this helps.

Well it may be "a" ribbon cable. There's a couple:
Keyboard
Hard Disk
Etc.
Generally ribbon cables are not the cause. It could be a battery problem or a mainbord problem.
