Expansion Contraction? please help, its for school...

At this time, our U.S. economy is as stable as it has been for a number of years, not in contraction by any means, but in a realatively balanced , slow to moderate growth cycle. A slowing in the real estate market, balanced by a low rate of inflation, and good prime rates by the feds, are all going towards balance , after an inflated residential housing market has been erosive to income across the board. seasonal fuel costs are down, and unemployment isn't growing, so overall, we're looking very stable for the next few quarters.

The economy is still in the expansion phase because GDP is increasing, but has slower growth than when we first emerged from the recession.
