My scar is not even noticeable anymore. You would never even know I had a c-section unless I told you but my doctor also used absorbable sutures instead of staples and also sutured from the inside out. I'm a surgical tech in the OR and have assisted on many c-sections and the absorbable sutures leave less of scar, or in some cases like mine you can't even see it at all. It also helped that my doctor sutured from the inside out, this is doctor's preference as is using staples or sutures. I guess find out what method your doctor uses and go from there. I just got lucky. My OB doctor is not a surgeon and since they had to do an emergency c-section on my I got the doctor on call she just happened to be a really awsome surgeon.

As far as turning the baby so you don't have to have one, you can't count on that. Doctors not telling you to do that doesn't mean they have no experience. I had my c-section because my son was not coming down the birth canal. They didn't discover he was breech until they did the c-section because three different times when I was checked the doctor felt the head so he turned at some point while I was in labor having contractions. So the point is even if the doctor did turn the baby there is still a possibility the baby could turn again and still have to come out by c-section.

Well, you won't be able to "get rid of the scar". It's a deep surgical cut and you will always be able to see "something" I would ask your surgeon/OB after surgery because you won't be able to put any type of topical creams/lotions on your scar for a while. Especially if you have staples that have to be removed 2 weeks after your section.
I never put anything on mine, and it healed very nicely. I think the key to a nice barely visible scar is proper healing. Wash your incision gently once a day with a plain bar soap, afterwards ensure the incision is 100% dry.
A trick that my OB taught me was after a shower, and making sure my incision and the area around is was 100% dry, to fold a maxi pad in half , and place the absorbent part over your incision, and then use your underwear/pants to hold the pad in place. This will eliminate rubbing caused by the top of your underwear or pants, and is sterile so you can be sure nothing yucky is getting near your incision.

Good luck!

I had a c-section 20 months ago and I have tried using cocoa butter and that has helped some-it also helped with the stretch marks some that I got from being pregnant. The scar will always be there though-and thankfully they do it so low that even if you wear a bikini it will not be seen. They cut right above your pubic bone.
I am having another c-section too in a little over 3 weeks!

okay im about to give you some REALLY IMPORTANT advise (based on the experience from hell) Ask your doctor if he/she can try to turn the baby around.....its very possible....the reason i say this is cuz there are so many risks with a c-section....ive experienced it first hand.He/she can literally go up you and turn the baby.I know it sounds disgusting and horrible but nothing is as horrible as what i went through with my c-section.Put it this way...i was in the hospital for almost 2 months after i had my daughter...i almost died!!!Im not trying to scare you but its very important that people kno wthat a c-section is not the easy way out.So many things can go wrong. My situation was an infection in my stomach.I had a 20 pound infection. The ER doctor said if i wouldve been 10 minutes later to the emergency room i wouldve died.I know i suck for telling you this but ....any one that has one should know the risks. If youre not with the whole turning the baby thing you make sure you have a doctoe with a whole lot of experience under their belt.Cuz if they didnt tell you they can turn the baby and you can have it normal...chances are they aint that experienced

You'll have a MINOR scar, under your belly button, just above your pubic hairline

They don't cut up you open like a side of beef any more. So relax

you can't do anything about it. I have my scar still yet after 5 years. It does not bother me and i am proud of it. Don't worry over petty things.

The scar will never go away completely.....and it is a small narrow one, so it's not that bad.....you can try Mederma....but know you will always have it.....
