I'm 70. I still work as a therapist. Been around a bit.
There's a good cross-section of society here - which includes some people who are in trouble. I can sometimes help them.
It's also a place where you can happily waste the odd half hour responding to unanswerable questions. I've given up on the grammar and spelling.

I've noticed during answering that a lot of the questions are seeming to come from very young minds as they don't spell or phrase the sentences very well. Most people don't go into much detail, another clue they must be younger. I'd guess there are more young teens than a lot of older teens or young adults. I'm well into my adult years and I'm not finding a lot of peers that I'd consider as equals. But maybe, the older you get, the less you need to ask questions. I usually give answers as I hope to help younger people find better direction. There are some great minds out there however. I've read some Q&A's (less than 10%) that sound really smart and intelligent. But it's not the majority! I think a lot of people just want points not discussion. I think they're missing the point! The points are nice to receive not for the points but for the fact that what you said impacted someone and you made a connection to another mind. I don't see that most are into that. They see it as a little game. I don't. I see is as a sharing of ideas and opinions. Like talking with friends or just mankind in general. It's interesting to discover what's on the minds of the greater community. Not a huge number of working minds though!

I am 18, a senior in high school, and prefer intellectual discussion to the empty attacks and blatant generalization most commonly found here. I don't think people are so much after the points as the fun of imagining the reaction their answer will create on the face of someone across the planet.

I'm a grandma. I like answering questions. Some are silly, some are funny, some are strangeeeeeeee. At times I think people are just ignorant. How a person can live in this world and NOT know some of the things people ask is beyond me. But such is life. There are lots of things I don't know - but there are lots of things I do know and maybe my opinion will help someone make a good decision. I laugh at some of the answers - they are fun to read and get another person's viewpoint.

I am a 27 year old female. I think every age group uses Yahoo Answers. I have read things from ages 10 to 60. I use it to ask questions and help other people figure things out. I also like to help students with their homework.

I'm here for a few reasons.
1. To get my questions answered.
2. Because sometimes I give great advice.
3. Because I love talking to people, and telling them what they should do.
4. Because sometimes I don't feel like doing anything but typing answers.
And I'm a 22 yr old, blond female. If you want to call that 'type'.
Honestly, what are the points good for? Nothing. It's all for fun.

How old are you?
My name is Brian C.
I will be 52 on March 7 2007.
Age is just a number.
I would like to think that if you ask the right questions you will get a correct answer.

55; I'm interested in serious discussion, but you have to wade through a lot of 'look at me, I'm on line now!' posts...but the serious, thought-provoking questions are there. You LOSE points for questions; based on the silliness of some questions, the purpose can't be for point gains.

There are all sorts of people on Yahoo! Answers and you can't peg someone's age by his/her questions or answers. I know someone who is in his late 20's that trolls like a child =P
I'll be 19 next month.
