Because he is not the kind of man he cares about doing things for his family. Some men are, and some men aren't. You have to tell him you've figured out that he doesn't take pride in being there for his family. And then, stop asking him for anything, and tell him you have stopped because it is too painful facing that he doesn't care enough about you guys. and don't argue it with him, don't respond to his defensive remarks.

just calmly repeat, look i finally just understand how things are.

Because he CAN sweetie.
What are you doing to stop him?
Men are like little children... they will do what they can get away with. He has gotten away with treating like this and it will be hard to put a stop to it..
Hubby won't get it at first ....why are you saying no now?
Stick to your guns...let him know how you feel and that you expect more and his behavior is NOT acceptably.

it is for the very reason that you suspect, and it is exactly why i left my loser husband, and am much better off all around for it. so glad i did. he cares more about those other people.

This is a question you should be asking HIM. Maybe he would realize then just what it is he is doing, he obviously doesn't think much of you...
