I snapped my shin bone playing soccer about 2 months ago. They have it on film. It sounded like a gunshot!

short answer no, yet i have had my the bones in my spine broken during surgery on more than one occasion).
so no i never heard them break thank fully. and so far never broken any other bones either YET. but it did take my spine nine months to be back as it was the first time around. since then though things went down hill. i'm not going to bore you with details suffice to say i'm in more pain now than ever before as a result of failed or botched surgery.

i hope you get your leg back to full health quickly and do not try to rush it or it could break again before it is fully healed. i'd say best keep off it as far as soccer goes for at least six months may be up to nine monthsto be on the safe side.
good luck

I have broken my right wrist in third grade. I was goalie in soccer and I tried to block a ball with my hands and my hand went all of the way back. I did not hear it break. I also broke my toe in 5th grade in the talent show. I was sliding down for my final pose (I was barefoot) and my toe got caught on like a nail sticking up from the stage. Hurt like crazy.

that sounds terrible!

this is lame...but i have broken my right baby toe probably about 20 times. i always kick bedposts or table legs or door jambs. it's always that foot and always that toe. it's twice the size of my left pinky toe. kinda gross actually. doesn't seem to take much now-a-days to snap the thing. i think it probably would look all crumbled under an xray. of all those times i have only heard the break twice. usually the slamming of the toe into the stationary object is louder than the bone snapping.

I broke my wrist snowboarding about 4 years ago. I didn't hear it break, but it looked very strange and I've got a wicked scar now.
