In California, they are trying to pass a law that says you cannot disipline your children. Do you agree?

It is true, they are trying to pass that law. I don't agree at all with the government trying to tell parents how kids should be disciplined.

When it comes to parenting even the bible says you parent with 2 hands; the right hand of love, and the left hand of discipline. What are we even here for if we can't discipline our own children, it isn't like we would be teaching them anything. I think young Californians, and every other youngster have it hard enough without having some ridiculous law like that on their record. Do you vote? If you're old enough you should.

I think it's spanking in particular that gets people all fired up. I say, if the kid is hard-headed enough, lay into them. Some kids are too sensitive and would be permanently scarred. Like my little sister. But I, on the other hand, got the bad end of my father's belt a few times I'm not any worse for it. But there is a limit.

Really? Of course not. Without that law, children nowadays are already less disciplined because parents have to work long hours and don't have time for the family !

It's getting so bad with not being able to discipline your children. My grandson is a monster. He tortures his family every night throwing fits and hitting and kicking and biting them and breaking everything he can and my daughter and son-in-law are afraid to spank him. They've tried every other form of discipline but nothing works with him. If it was back in the 50's he'd have a nice ole spanking and that would be the end of his bad behavior.

Hey, sometimes a slap is warranted. Besides, so long as you aren't leaving bruises, how will anyone know?

Drug addiction has nothing to do with how one is raised. Sure, there's a higher incidence when parent figures are absent, but I've seen plenty of addicts that come from good, loving, families.

I do not agree. Why should exceptions dictate law?

If it happens in California, it will become, at the very least, considered in the rest of the country.

I disagree strongly
if there is no discipline there will be no guidance for children- everyone will not no right from wrong
parents are there to teach lessons for there children
a simple timeout is catorgorized as discipline, but it is needed for guiding kids threw the right paths

i beleve you should not spank you child but you have to disipline your child because if you don,t the will dis respect you. spanking only tells the kid that violance is the only way to get what you want
you should consider other options of disaplining your child like grounding or taking something they like away it will show your child that his bd behavour is not allowed

It basically is an undermining of parental rights, perpetrated by the California LIBERALS.

You can rest assured that neighbors who don't like you could report you, and you could be arrested based upon hearsay alone.
