Personality is truly important but I also know there has to be something about the physical appearance of a person that initially draws you to them...it may be the way they walk, the hair, the eyes or the way they smile but an overall "must be fine" man most women will settle for a GREAT personality, employed and honest.

Personality - looks can take you only so far. Have you ever met someone who was absolutely flawless on the outside but had a terrible personality? Total turnoff. It just makes them ugly. But on the flip side, have you ever met someone who wasn't that great looking on the outside but had a great personality? That person is so beautiful. Would you rather have a great looking man that beat you and treated you like dirt or an average looking man that treated you like a queen? I'll take the second of the two.

Personality!! If most women that go after guys for looks had any sense, they would realize that we all age. Someday that hot guy with dark brown hair and spell binding eyes, is going to get old just like she will, then she will be stuck with a bald, baggy eyed old grump. Usually the personality stays through the years.

For myself, its both. For a potential partner? Looks don't hurt. However, there are some guys that are not that great looking and there is something about their personality that makes them better looking. There are guys that are really good looking and once they open their mouth, they turn into ugly men. There is no real excellent answer here, it comes down to a womans preference and what floats her boat.

Personality. At first I might be attracted to looks, but in the end personality is way more important.

Well I don't know how old you are. But, I'm fifteen and looks are very important. I don't know if it counts because my friends usually say that a boy I like isn't all of that.
If I meet him and like him because of his personality, then it's more important. If I meet him and I like him for his looks, then they're more important.

Both... but you see personality is something you can help improve on...
my ex was an idiot when I met him... no idea what to wear when, no idea how to talk to people... or for that fact when to open his mouth... but when we broke up... boy, was he front page news !!
So basically... looks...
(as I said you can teach everyone "new tricks," change their behaviour etc. but there's nothing you can do about an ugly, hideous looking person)

I think you need a pretty even balance. Looks are no good without personality. And personality is intensified by looks.
