Yes, it's true. The hymen is a thin membrane that most often breaks in childhood during any sort of active play. Ask a doctor.

You won't be screaming in pain. There is barely any for most people. You'll be ok. If it were that horrible, we wouldn't keep doing it!

I think someone was feeding you a line of B.S.

I was about 29 when I fell for a gal who was 22. I found out the first night we made love that she was a virgin. She hadn't told me. We had done quite a bit of necking and we both loved the foreplay, so even though there was noticeable bleeding, she said that it hurt some, but not too much. It was better for her after that, and we lived together for several years after that with many good memories. That is a night i will never forget however.

As long as the guy loves you and is sober, and you truly can't keep your hands off him, you both should enjoy each other, and I wouldn't worry too much about any problems on your wedding night... I also wouldn't expect an orgasm that night either. That takes some practice to find out what works for you two...

Hope this isn't too much information. feels a bit awkward writing it down.

Most girls that don't have a hymen intact probably broke it while using tampons or doing some other physical activity, so if you're older and have used tampons, you probably don't have one, adn that's what caused the bleeding.

I was young when I lost my virginity and it did hurt quite a bit. I had the guy go slow and he was willing to work with me the first few times. The hymen isn't the only thing that would cause pain, the fact that you've never had anything that big in you would cause it.

why dont u look it up on webmd or something? most women are born with hymens, but they can break easily. sex hurts mostly because the vagina is a small muscular canal, of course the force of a penis is going to cause pain. nothign is usually in there. even if ur not a virgin and its been a while since you had sex, its going to be somewhat painful, but the pain passes. sex is not so painful that ull be screaming bloody murder. as long as u are lubricated enough and he is gentle and sensitive to the fact that you are a virgin, your pain can be lessened. come on, if it was that bad the porn industry would not be as big as it is, there would not be so many children in the world.

That is so cool that your saving sex for marriage!!
Well, I tried having sex and it hurt sooo bad that we stopped. and i was crying. Girls hymens can break from sports like cheerleading, softball, and even horseback riding. My hymen was not broken when I tried, so maybe that was why it hurt so bad. If you don't get really wet down there than when you try for the first time, it will really hurt. You have to make sure the person you do it with makes you wet down there first (because I wasnt and it was really dumb because he couldnt get it in). I stopped and didnt do it. I dont know if I am technicly a virgin still or not because my hymen was broken.
I know that didnt answer your question but if you go to the website below than you can scroll down and read a little bit about it.
I hope everything goes well!

For some reason, I doubt that statistic is true. Some girls are not even born with a hymen and some lose it through riding a bike among other things but the percentage can't be that high.

If you have sex, you should be ready to and go slowly. It shouldn't be like, "let's do it" and "wham bam."

My first time was terrible and very painful. I don't think I was lubricated enough.

I have honestly never heard a percentage such as that. Almost all women have a hymen, but it can be altered if you use tampons. That is most likely the pain you will experience Yes, it does hurt, but I promise you won't scream in pain. Just make sure he takes it slow, and you will do just fine. Thousands of women go through it, and so will you. Just have fun and enjoy the night and eachother. If you are getting married soon, congratulations and good luck!

Who told you that? Every girl is born with a hymen. However, some are more flexible than others, so they may not be broken during sex at all. And sometimes, through dancing or horseback riding, girls can inadvertently break their own hymens. But, I think the sensation of having something in your vagina may be strange/uncomfortable/painful the first time, no matter what.

It's amazing how many wrong comments people have made. Tampons do not break your hymon--that's a myth. Ask a doctor if you don't believe it.

I used tampons for years, and it was an idiot doctor doing a pap smear who broke my hymon. And, it hurt, but it was more cause she was trying to hurt me.

Anyway, sex the first time did not hurt at all. I got to laughing cause of all the crap people had told me that i believed. And then the guy got to laughing... He said that he had never had so much fun during sex before lol.

Sex can hurt, i suppose, because you're so tight or because the guy might have an adnormally huge dick. But as long as he is gentle, neither would be a problem.
