Ignorance and racism at the same time. That woman should learn about cultures and races and stop pointing to Americans as the ignorant ones. That's totally unfair.

my husband is mexican-american and i've seen prejudice like this. i think other immigrants are jealous of hispanic people because they have acclimated more easily. and becuase of 9/11 there is a lot more both prejudice and ignorance towards dark skinned people-especially middle easterners.
it's was really wrong to take her feeling out on the little girl though. if she wants to have a real debate, she needs to attack an adult who can defend themselves and who is more aware of the world.. that was pathetic on her part to single out a child. i hope you and others in class will let the student know no feelings have changed about her. and report this teacher!

i think Israelis are known for their rudeness and this teacher needs to learn the mores of American high schools. So I'd say the Israeli woman "has a lot to learn about culture and races" in the United States.
I wonder what she's doing here if she hates America so much. I wonder if she was just trying to be confrontative and get people to think, but that's not the way we do it in America.

The so called teacher should not be teaching in America or in our schools. She was very rude, intimidating the young spanish girl. She is there to teach not to be hateful towards Americans or Spanish people. I feel this woman who is in our United States should be sent back to her country and teach her own hate there. This is not the place to do it here. This is not a generalization pointed out...there are better ways to do that.

the two have no longer something to do with one yet another. lack of information and racism are thoroughly relatively some issues, yet on the grounds that some form of derogatory term replaced into needed for individuals to describe racists, 'ignorant' looks to have been the be conscious that have been given annexed into that function, even though it does not certainly practice. some human beings might make claims that that's a manageable term using fact racists are 'ignorant' of this or that certainty with regards to equality, yet there's a distinction between being unaware of something, and easily choosing to forget approximately approximately it on the grounds which you disagree with it.

I think she saw someone who looked like an immigrant and decided to get the story behind her family. I really dont think it was so much racism as inconsideration for the girl's feelings.

The sub was right about Americans (being racists, etc) but she was totally wrong to single out that girl. And she should be fired for it.
I think the sub was in a sense identifying with her oppressors and trying to make herself feel better (for being discriminated against) by discriminating against someone else.
Sad.
