I am really depressed, but my husband has done some stuff to me to scar me emotionally. We are still together and I just think that seeing a theripist would help me a little bit. I am afraid that if we ever go to court and end up having a cutody battle that he might try to use that against me...can he? I am sane...very sane, just really hurt!

Well, from the way I see it, the family unit depends on the wellness of all in regards to physical and mental and emotional conditions. After being through the process in the courts twice now, it really doesn't matter the facts as everyone involved lied about the circumstances and the court was oblivious to the facts. It would make more sense for you to seek help and be sound and stable and believe me if it comes to a custody battle would you want to go into it with the odds already against you? I don't think so. Get what you need to be healthy and worry about that problem if and when it gets there.

What you need to do is make sure that you have on paper
when you see your therapist it's because of your husband
that you are there. As long as you continue to care for
your child(ren) as any mother would do then the courts
will see that and realize that your husband is the problem
and not you.

You can use it for yourself. This builds the argument that you want so badly to be a good mother, that you will see a professional therapist to ensure you are in good mental health. The judge will probably see him as a mud-slinger if he tires to use it against you.

Get a good lawyer. Then get a therapist. Don't let him intimidate you. Do you have a close friend that can help you and keep you strong? Find someone you can trust. Get out of this relationship as soon as you can.

I am not sure but if i were you i would get a good attorney to help you with this one and have your therapist stand up for you in court as well.

Unless he can prove you to be incompetent, he will never win. Even if he did prove it, he would have to provide documentation to the judge. Been there, done that. He is just trying to control you.
