Um . . . labor? Has your doctor not mentioned the possibility of it starting at some point?

Hi! No worries, that is normal. I am now 11 weeks and I get them every now and again, but not as often as I did when I was as far gone as you. They do not last long either. Mine are pretty much gone right now though, and they are being replaced by other pains when I sneeze and stuff (round ligament pain-not fun). It is just your body getting prepared for the baby. Perfectly normal. As long as they do not get very bad and there is no bleeding or spotting, do not worry about it, it’s normal. Your body is going through a lot of changes right now and unfortunately, those cramps are a side effect of it! :) Hope I helped, but don’t worry, it’s a normal part of pregnancy. Even women much further gone that us will tell you they had those cramps all during pregnancy. You’re fine! Best of luck to you and have a great day!! The doctor I’m going to wants patients to wait until they are 8 weeks for their first visit. They said it’s so they can see and hear the heartbeat. However, some doctors want patients to come in earlier. It depends on the doctor. In the meantime, go to Wal-Mart or somewhere and get some prenatal vitamins. I couldn’t take them because they made me sick, but the doctor told me to take two Flintstone Completes in their place. You can try those if the prenatals make you sick. (I have horrible “all day sickness”.) Good luck!!

You are definitly in premature labor! All you can do at this point is relax and wait for the contractions to get bad enough that you need to go to the hospital! I went in 3 times with my last baby because I was having contractions.. They had to stop me the first time because I was early the second time they stopped and the 3rd time they did not stop I kept having them but they were not harder or stronger. They gave me the option to either stay and wait until I start or I can go home and wait. I decided to go home and I had them non stop for 1 day and they still never got harder. They ended up going ahead and inducing after a week. Needless to say he was 8 lbs 8 oz and was 2 weeks early.. and he just was not ready to come out! Good Luck

with my first pregnancy i had this same problem but turned out it was the stretching. my doctor told me that certain activities can cause you to have contractions. if you aren't effacing or dilating than I wouldn't worry ,get checked to make sure if you are scared. Sometimes if you are going into labor and it stops they may induce you to get it over if you go into O.B and especially if you are that far along.

You cannot feel yourself dilating. Braxton Hicks can feel like regular contractions but usually are irregular and can stop if you change position, drink water or rest in bed. Regular contractions can be irregular but when you progress in the birthing process they tend to get closer and closer, never far apart because your body needs to get the baby out because once the placenta detaches your child has a higher risk for suffication. If you do a lot of walking this can cause the baby to push down and start labor. Although labor isn't officially started until a chemical in the body is released to tell the brain to start with the labor process. Like I said if you go and get checked and your cervix hasn't changed than don't worry.

also, braxton hicks usually occur to prepare your body for what is to come!
GOOD LUCK!!!

It might be that time. To make things easier WALK,WALK,WALK! it helps alot. I walked for 4 hrs after having contractions 7 min apart and after resting for 2 hrs started having them 5 min apart and every time my stomach would harden and i would have low-abdominal pain. It felt like bad mens.cramps and sort of gas pains. They admitted me and I had my baby 20 hrs later. so walk walk walk girl it will help speed things up and make it much easier one you. It will also help you dilate faster. Drink lots of water because sometimes if you are dehydrated you can have false labor even being this close to term. Believe me i went to the ER 3 times before it was "real" and it was just due to dehydration. If you drink water and your still having them wait till their about 5 min apart for at least 30 minutes then go to the ER...Good Luck

As you get closer to actual true labor, your braxton hicks contractions get more frequent and can sometimes even fool you into thinking it is true labor. Try drinking a glass of water and lying on your left side for an hour, if it goes away then it's braxton hicks. Or you can try walking and if it is true labor, the pains will get harder, longer, and painful....

It sounds like you are in active labour. Contractions do not have to be consistent to be real. It can start at 10 mins apart and go back to 20 easily. Do not be fooled. go to the hospital now so that you can be sure. Is this your first child?

Maybe you are starting to go into labor or have 'pre-labor'? No need to panic yet, but if the contractions get more regular, it is definitely time to go to the hospital. You should go get checked by your ob-gyn tomorrow even if the contractions stop.

Is it like menstual cramps???? i had that for 12 hrs before i went into full labor. I would just keep timing the contractions. If you start walking around and they DONT go away... call ur doctor. Call ur doctor anyways if you are concerned..

You are getting ready to have the baby. One clue is, if you can walk through them no hurry if you can't get to the hospital Also if you drink a large glass of water and they go away then they are braxton hicks if they keep occurring then they are the real thing

why haven't you gone to the hospital, contractions 3-5 minutes apart need to be seen at the hospital.
similar thing happened to me and once i got there and they broke my water... i dilated fully in less than an hour and in 2 pushes he was out.
i think you need to talk to your doc.
