For the past week or so, my husbands hands/arms have been sporadically going numb (severe pain in his fingers & tingling) throughout the day. It doesn't seem to matter what position he is in when this happens, even if he is in the middle of using his hands/arms.

He lifts weights, on average, 3-4 x per week. I feel like this is poor circulation, any thoughts on what might be causing this or what he could do to help?

It depends on the WEIGHT of the weights. He could e getting some nerve damage by over-exerting himself.

Whether due to age or injury, your hubby needs to see a orthopedic specialist. The symptoms sound like there is a pinched nerve in the neck area that radiates down the arm, usually the C4-5-6 causing the tingling and finger pain. Been there!

Have him back off on the weights until he sees the Ortho or at least reduce significantly the weight total. Also look for other symptoms include pain in the jaw, headache, neck ache, shoulder ache, etc. and write those down for the doctor to hear.

If he wont go to ortho direct, or cannot due to insurance referral system, have him to go his family doctor with the symptoms.

tendinitis and or carpel tunnel syndrome....I have tendinitis in my shoulder and carpel tunnel in my wrist of the same arm...I get pain, numbness and tingling daily. Tried PT, didn't work..I do take anti-inflammatory meds daily, and have had numerous injections in my shoulder..I get temporary relief, but surgery is the one option to possibly have long term relief.....never a good time for surgery in my life it seems lol....he should see a doctor and have an MRI done to find out for sure what is going on...best of luck.

This could be heart-related. He should definitely get checked out by a doctor. It could also be neurologic, and perhaps relating to a pinched nerve caused by the weight lifting. Either way, he should get checked.

do not wait to see a doctor about this. have him call a doctor and get it checked out as numbness is not a good sign.
