Sadly the image of the homosexual as an overly feminine actor in history is but a myth. As others have noted, Rome and Greece did not look unfavourably upon homosexual acts. It just part of one being sexual. No one had yet to really bother to condemn the practise and those who did, were but slaves of the empires. So it did not matter what they thought. Alexander the Great had a male partner and it did not make him any less of a man or warrior. Remember, homosexuality and aggression in time of war has no relevance in ancient history. It has only been in the modern age that prejudices have surfaced toward the homosexual in the battlefield. Today, Gay and Lesbian men and women can serve openly in the Canadian, Danish and Armed Services of Great Britain without question or discrimination. And these are but 3 of the nations where sexual orientation has nothing to do with the individuals ability to fight and defend their homeland or the rights and freedoms of other individuals away from home.

I was thinking the same thing...not only did Greece accept homosexuality...usually a man took on a young boy as his apprentice which included sexual activities. And Greece got into lots of wars.

Are you kidding? Take both classical civilizations; Greece and Rome. Did they seem a lot less liable to conflict, to you? evaluate the Spartans as a operating example. Institutionalized homosexuality coupled with the most warlike outlook of each and every of the historic Greeks. i imagine you want to re-evaluate this pretend correlation you possible want to construct.

Both Greece and Rome accepted (and in some cases expected) homosexuality. And they both loved a good conflict. So the answer would most likely be no.

What the hell difference would that make? What suck a dick and stop a war? Seriously this has to be one of the stupidest ideas I have heard. You put no logic to that reason.
