My upside down catfish is breathing heavy and folds his body in half. He is in a 50 gal tank with other upside down cats, cory cats, and tetras. All water tests are within normal limits and all other fish are acting fine. One of the other upside down cats is breathing hard but not folding in half. Any ideas as to whats going on?

For those of you saying take it to a vet. Please tell me where I may find one.

I have talked to several aquarium shops that deal with fish and they have no clue.

So, let me know just what kind of vet I should look for.

I have done some research, and upside down cats do well with 7.0 ph which is where I keep my aquarium. I did not see anyone recommend a higher ph

If you think your fish is acting strange then put it in to a quarentine (sorry if i have bad spelling) tank and wait a few weeks to see what happens.
If he gets better you can put him back with the others but if not and dies, then atleast he didnt take anyothers with him:)

Your water may be within normal limits for your tetras but upside down cats prefer a higher PH level. You may just have a sick fish on your hands.
