No. Never.

But as a medical social worker, I have seen horrible things. I once knew of a man who was sleeping with his dying wife's nurse! She was 26 and died of cancer. He married the nurse a few months after the funeral. The worst part?? She knew what was going on! He should have just left her die in peace instead of put her through that.

On the plus side, I have seen the timelessness of love over and over again working in a nursing home. We have a few patients who can neither speak nor acknowledge their spouses. yet there are husbands and wives who come daily, to hold hands, come hair, feed lunch, watch TV. One man takes his wife on walks every day, then watches Days of Our Lives with her. She smiles when he comes in.......that is all he needs. Now that is love.

My husband is ill from a injury he sustained 5 years ago. I would never leave him because of it. I try to help him the best I can. He is on some very powerful pain medication, but still hurts all the time. It grieves me to the depth of my soul that I can't take the pain away.

im not married or ever was. but divorcing your spouse because he/she is ill isnt very good. they married you because they think that you would help them through tough times. have you there when he/she isnt feeling well. i think its the cruelest thing to do. to divorce a spouse because of a sickness. very wrong. i would hate it if my husband divorced me bc i was ill, it would make me even worse. my opinion. sorry if its affensive.

Proverbs 31: 11,12
"The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securley, so that he has no lack of (honest) gain or need of (dishonest) spoil. She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her."
Marriage is a covenant, how would you feel if he wanted to leave you if you were ill?
Be Blessed and Rejoice in the Lord!
(till death do us part)-remember that one?

Nope never and i would never do it either... When we say our vows it is through sickness and in health better or for worse. If we cannot keep the vows then why ever say them and get married in the first place?

It was done to a friend of mine. He became more of a care taker to her, their relationship totally broke down.
