I cant figure out how to load my library to my ipod. I have my ipod connected and it shows it but it wont update my playlist.

go to File and press "Sync iPod"

Right click on the ipod icon to the left of itunes and press sync

you should check the preferences of your ipod (under edit menu in the older versions of itunes). on the newer versions you need to check what you want to be added - under iPod tab on the side. you can check "automatically update all" or you can individually check playlists

you must have it set on manual update.. (i do).. so you have to drag the songs over to the ipod icon..
if you don't want to do it this way you'll have to change the ipod back to auomatically updating again.. (i can change mine when i first connect it when it tells me how much is on it etc - but i'm using an aussie one!)

thats what ur suppose to do just plug in ur ipod after downloading a song.. and they just automatticly go in.

click and drag the song from your library to your i pod list
