He can't help it but neither can I! He snores and kicks in his sleep and says he can't get back to sleep after he realizes I've gone to sleep in the other room. His feelings get hurt and one of us can't sleep. It's not my fault so why should I stay awake listening to him snore? I get angry if he keeps me awake. Our relationship is strained because of this. What should I do?

HAS HE TRIED THAT THROAT SPRAY FOR SNORING? MY HUSBAND USES THAT PLUS THE NOSE STRIPS FOR SNORING AND THEY REALLY DO WORK. ALL OF THIS IS OVER THE COUNTER.

If you have been together for 10 years and the snoring is a recent development then something has changed for him. Have him see a doctor as snoring is not normal, contrary to popular belief. He may need a sleep study done as he may have sleep apnea for which there are several forms of treatment. My snoring was so bad that my partner had to sleep in another room. I had a sleep study done and found out I have severe sleep apnea. I now sleep with a CPAP machine and don't snore anymore and sleep a lot better.

Mine snores too and it is really hard to overcome. What i have tried is to go to sleep before he does so I don't hear him because I'm already slept. There s another solution which I haven't tried due to several reasons but maybe it can help you. During 21 consecutively days, tell him when he is already sleeping what you want him to do-example- dear, you need to sleep peacefully so you will stop snoring and kicking.and tomorrow you will feel better.! you have to tell him exactly what you want . it has to be the same message every night , so if you have to , write it down so it will be the same. Yours words mustn't be heard, so it is like whispering or just as moving your lips. It s nothing magic, it is neurologists. and it really works, you can also use this with your children if they are doing something you don't like It you want to change. GOOD LUCK, if it works after 21 days just let us know.

Have him go to a sleep clinic snoring and kicking can be a serious problem. In the mean time get some earplugs.

For the kicking, how about 2 twin beds next to each other in the same room.. and for the snoring, he could see a doctor for that, in the meantime, you could wear ear plugs or headphones.

I'm in his position.

Breath right and the sprays did virtually nothing for me. I've recently (last month) gotten an 'Aveo TSD' which is an over the counter or mail order appliance that sits in your mouth, Its making a big differance for me.

Don't just leave it. Try the strips, if they don't work, i'd try the aveo, which is a little over 100 bucks (well worth if it if might help you both sleep and be happier!)

good luck.

three words of advice: hidden video camera! Let him see for himself what you have to put up with while he's asleep. If nothing else maybe he'll finally go to a doctor for the snoring or something.
