I am almost (gulp) 30. I'm excited about it and love to look at baby websites and have started taking vitamins, but keep putting off scheduling my preconception exam. I want to but I'm scared. I'm scared to really take that step. Does this mean I'm not ready?

I think being scared of the total change to your body and your life is normal, and it doesn't necessarily mean you aren't ready to have a baby. Really ask yourself, are you ready for your life to change? Are you ready to put yourself last and a baby first 24/7? :) Do you want to have leisurely Sundays in the park and be able to fly to Europe with your husband on a moment's notice for the rest of your life, or are you ready to trade that in for something different (but wonderful)? I think if you're ready to see what else life can be about, you're ready to start trying.

It is going to be scary, I think the first one always is. You really don't know what to expect or whats happening and it is such a joy at the same time.

I would recommend you read some books like what to expect when you're expecting and other books so you can be more aware.
