I was just wondering. Some of the answers I have received seemed to be pretty childish and empty answers.
I am new to YA. I was just wanting to know who I am asking questions to . Are people who answer most the questions mainly only interested in getting points like it is a game or are they into serious intellectual discussion?

i was only concerned with getting points for a while so i could answer more questions.
i like to help people and i will never catch the leaders anyway.

We are girls and boys of every age from pre-teen up-wards, the other day a lady told us she was 87. Very often you can roughly guess the age of a person by the wording of their question/answer. After mid-night you can not assume that there are no young people on site, because there are people from almost every country in the world on this site, and of course when it is mid-night here it is day-time somewhere else in the world.! Try not to let some people up-set you with the things they may say, some of the language and subject matter can be rather coarse; but you can just skip that if you don`t like it. Variety is the spice of life, and that does make for lots of different things to look forward to answering.

Lots of people give fun answers to serious questions and serious answers to fun questions. As far as age, I would say any age from 12 or 13 up to the eldery.
It is true that it is a bit of a game--I think of it as a "sort of a game" but really to me, at least, the gathering of points merely reflects quality and quantity of answers.
I often answer from my heart, or in the case of not serious questions, attempt to have fun with it.

There are some kind people on here who offer help and support. I don't know their ages but some have wisdom. Others come here to have an occasional laugh too. It is good to lighten up sometimes but not at the expense of someone else. So you have a wide variety of people. Just take the answers you need and discard the rest.

I think there are a variety of ages here, but there does seem to be a lot of people who seem to be of junior high age that just want to mouth off. I pretty much ignore them, and I appreciate the people who answer my questions in a mature way. I always try to answer questions the best I can. I'm in my 40s, by the way.

Some people take this seriously, some too seriously, some are just here to instigate negativity and cause grief whenever they can,and some are here because they are bored and have nothing better to do, some just want to have a laugh, this site has probably the broadest spectrum of people you'll find anywhere on the web, as a result of which you'll get a variety of answers from all walks of life.

There is a certain degree of comptetion here, and it does seem to be about the points some times, but then there alot of poeple who genuinely want to help. There are people of all ages here too, so not all kids!
I'm 24 by the way.

babe we all get silly questions and get silly answers. There are some people on here that take joy in just giving stupid answers and questions. Ignore them. I try to help anyone and do ask some questions but most of them are crap. Its like on the street you get the nice people and the yobbo's babe. You just have to winkle them out. I am in my fifties and try to help as much as possible but do have a laugh with the idiots.

i am pretty new too and i think you get a bit of both,and sometimes you cant help giving silly answers just look at some of the questions ,and as far as age groups allsorts i think ,, me 30/35 bracket just try not to let the racists wind you up to much , and there are people who just want to piss people off, but thats life suppose.
