Or, were you too busy watching football, drinking beer, whining about politics? I thought about those young kids who died far away from home - probably homesick and terrified of dieing in a foreign country away from their families; kids who will never have a chance to enjoy the best years of their life.

To the poster "RAT", I served in the military and have no illusions about the way these kids die - crash or combat.

As a visitor to your fine country I thought about them and also wondered why they went to war if the reason for going there admittedly has been found to be incorrect.I also recognize that this may be the only country in the world....perhaps the size?? that one side can be partying the other is having fun..when the country is at war.Maybe where I come from is such a tiny place we all feel scared when there is a war.

They were young men who were doing a great service for their country. They were young men who were free to choose to be there doing what they viewed as the right thing. They were not kids and they were not as weak and pathetic as your statement paints them.
Yes I thought about it, and I think things might have been different if the rules of engagement allowed them to better defend themselves and our great nation. I thought if we didn't have so many know it all anti American types in the halls of congress, they might have had the benefit of intercepted enemy communication, bank records or mined data to help them win. Perhaps if our press was on our side as it was in the second world war we might still be able to coerce information out of captured enemy better than we are allowed to now.
Yeah I thought about them and their mission and the restraints they must deal with when fighting.

Good point, but unlike other wars, they all chose to be there, and yeah I think of them everyday, but even people in the guard, who happily except the benefits know that they may have to serve someday, that is what they get paid for....
I wish no one would eveer die over there or in Korea, ww11 and so on, it really sucks......makes me sick...

Now considering most were killed in a crash, do you feel the pain for the Hundreds that die in crashes all over the US on our roads?
Biggest difference is tragic accidents Vs. a tragic accident of noble people! Way more Noble than YOU!
