I am asking when mothers out there when they first felt the flutters of the baby moving. I have been having slight feelings on the bottom of my abdomen on the right hand side. It is like little vibrations. They come and they go? Any answers would be great.

The reason I am asking this question is that with my previous pregnancy i continued to bleed around the time my period would be due come up until 22 weeks, and I had a negative urine result with until 13 weeks. I have had a negative blood and urine test which was done a month ago. I have put on heaps of weight and expressing clear but thickish discharge from my nipples, when I press them. My periods in the past four years have been around 26/27 days. My Oct menstral cycle was was only 24 days in length, Nov was 27 which was normal, Dec was 38 days in length and jan cycle was 29 days. I was layng down and I felt the slight vibrations yesterday morning for the first time, again last night and again this morning. I have booked in to see a different doctor tomorrow and I don't want to ask for an ultrasound incase I am not pregnant and I look like a goose. I would be happy with any results but these flutters/vibrations have me thinking.

Flutters feel like popcorn popping, and can be felt as early as the 3rd month. Some women are just more in tune with their bodies, but don't worry if it takes longer, 1st time mommies usually don't feel anything till later

I felt my first kicks at 16.5 weeks and yes they were KICKS not just flutters. Now at 27 weeks I have been seriously pummelled from the inside for the last 10 weeks! It's cool though. My friend, however, is 19 weeks and hasn't felt much yet. It depends on where the fetus is connected to your placenta. Mine is attached at the back which means he kicks forward and I feel a LOT, my friend's baby is attached to the front which means any kicking goes to her back and most movements wouldn't be felt until she gets a bit further along. You typically rock the baby to sleep as you walk around during the day, so feel for activity in the early morning and last thing at night as you lay down to sleep. Good luck!

I have felt very tiny wiggles or flutters since I was 15 weeks, but was never sure if I was feeling the baby of not. I am 18 weeks now and I am feeling more and more flutters and wiggles.
I think you can feel them 14-22 weeks first, but most people feel them after 20 weeks (according to the books). However the more slender you are supposedly the earlier you can feel them!

Enjoy your 'wiggles'!

It's funny that you ask this because I just shouted downstairs "Hey I think I feel the baby moving" and I'm just at 18 weeks today.

I was reading through answers just now and I'm feeling this "poke poke thing". And it's not gas....so I think it might actually be the baby.

I think your question is a sign that it probably is. :)
