First off don't panic! It will be okay. There are many websites on the internet that can help him with his Math homework. The website that I find the most helpful is www.purplemath.com. They have an infinite list of topics, with step by step on instructions on how to solve problems. Math itself is simple...but the concepts behind it aren't. Purple Math will help him at home...another answer is to find out more about the tutors you have chosen for him. Sometimes tutors just give the answers and don't explain the process or thought behind it. Hand pick your tutor if at all possible. That will help! Also if he ever has any problems email me with them and I will guide him through them. I am a Math major on my last year here at Western so I have been through these courses and know the stuff. Purple Math saved my life more than once...and if he needs help email me and I will do my best!

Are these tutors any good? If you've got your kid doing algebra at least an hour a day, you really shouldn't be having a problem. Have your son go straight to the teacher after school a couple days a week. She'll know how to teach her own class better. Have him go with specific questions on what he can't do and at least an attempt to do the problems on his own.

EASY WAY ? NO !
Thats probably been the problem all along. There is no easy way to learn math. any more than there is an easy way to learn skateboarding. Perfection comes from practice and desire.
Try Sylvan tutoring.
