It never ceases to amaze me that majority of the soldiers in Iraq are young and not physically/mentally fit to do the job. In this case quality is better than quantity. Plus, a new strategy or approach is needed to curb with the insurgents attacks. By putting someone kids, brother, father, sisters and etc wont just cut it. More and more people killed not only US soldiers but locals there too. Now I begin to understand why 21 members from Republicans do not support Bush's plan to send more troops. They are right and it is a time for some changes especially in the President seat because the nightmare of the second 'Vietnam War' will become a reality!

,In the short term the "surge" which is really just a slowed down troop rotation will have the effect of strengthening security. In the long term it means little. The Shiites are going to force the Sunni's out or kill them while leaving the Kurds pretty much alone. Nothing I can see to contradict that and yes I have been there. Had the president sent more troops in the first place things would be different. The minimum troop strength in Iraq is in my opinion, 250K. I would also liked to have seen a "stronger" engagement, when a president orders an invasion he should go all out. No half measures like in Iraq. Go in crush your opponents and take charge. Had this been done we would not be in this mess we have now. I support the idea behind the war but it has been poorly executed on the strategic level. The Bush administration has lots to answer for and future presidents can learn so much from it.

The failure lies within the American people not having the faith in our troops to do the great job they have been doing since the war started.United we stand, divided we fall.We are falling hard. There is allot of good going on in Iraq and as long as we keep tying the hands of our soldiers,we will win nothing.

You're looking at the few non-successes we had in the last four years. You should be looking at the thousands of successes we have every year. Why are you so negative?
