I think men have no clue what they want or feel. The only word they know is the b-word because they are constantly hearing it left and right everywhere they go. Woman just need to stand up for themselves in those situations and hit them where it hurts... and I'm sure you can think of something that will hurt them even more while still being the better person ;-) I often feel the same way you do but after a while, you will get sick of their ignorance and tell them what's really on your mind. Men have their "B" side of them too and they are even worse because they can't control anything that's on their mind. Just wait, men will learn some day. Just be sure to stand your ground and not let them walk all over you. Stay strong! Good luck!

People who call you the b word when you speak your mind are people that are intimidated by your intelligence. Everyone has the right to state his or her opinion, and times are changing. Women have become more successful and more motivated over the years and you shouldn't let the fear of not being accepted stop your from expressing your thoughts and emotions. If anyone calls you a *****, what you should do is tell them that you have the right to an opinion, they dont have to agree with it, but they do have to respect it. And if that doesnt work, then it true ***** form, tell them to **** off.

Only men who don't appreciate a woman or respect she has an opinion call women the b word.
When a woman shows intelligence, some men get scared of that and resort to the b word because they cannot stand to thing their partner can have an opinion.

Is a control issue. Men feel threaten by women. believe it or not women hold a lot of power psychologically over men. In order to not feel threaten men try very hard to keep women down. We make double standards and make women feel inferior in general. Over time women begging to believe these lies and they themselves take themselves out of the competition. One good example of this is if 51% of the population of the U.S. is female, how come there haven't been a single female president? Think about that.
So you see, when you said, you where afraid to speak your mine you have already put yourself down. That is one less woman men have to deal with and compete against. You have to learn that not everybody is going to like what you are going to say all the time. It is a fine balance of knowing when to speak and knowing when to shut up. However, if you see a citation that you feel you must speak out then do so.

I think that the word b i t c h is really used as a positive reference for women. In my opinion it is a woman who is opinionated, intelligent and not afraid of speaking her mind. A b i t c h has excellent self confidence and a great deal of ambition...Use the word with pride and feel good about yourself if you are called one because it means that you are a self assured, independent thinker.

Be your own person, and don't be afraid to express your beliefs. What's the worst that can happen if someone calls you the b-word? It's only words.
Take a stand on something you believe in, and make people believe you.

I am a B I T C H... and I am quite proud of it. If they don't like what I have to say, they can go elsewhere. Bite my A$$. It is that way because MEN can't handle women that are assertive, positive, intelligent, and doing something for THEMSELVES instead of being a man's doormat.

An interesting angle to your opinion is "The Devil Wears Prada". The boss is competent and people listen, but in this movie she is without a soul.

In my opinion... We all have the ability to be called nasty names for speaking our mind...It's all about how you speak it...Were you cordial..courteous...gentle....compassionate? Or did you use nasty names or analogies to state your case? Speaking your mind is one thing....Blowing a gasket and starting a war is yet another....No one deserves to be called names...But names are just words....They might hurt your feelings....But they shouldn't hinder you from speaking your mind in a civilized, compassionate manner even when your dealing with ##%#@ men.....Ya gotta laugh...
