Ten months is actually the time of gestation, because you are pregnant for 40 weeks, so technically it is ten months. With the calendar system we use, the months tend to be 4 to almost 5 weeks long, so using a calendar it usually ends up being nine months. That's where the difference comes in anyways :)

Yes, in a way it's true. Pregnancy is measured in lunar months, which equates to 10. 4 weeks equals one lunar month. (28 days) so the total is 10 months.
My pregnancy was actually 9 months 3 weeks by a calendar.

It's actually about 9 1/2 months but it's okay for a baby to stay in there around 2 extra weeks if there are no problems.

It's actually 40 weeks. Everything in pregnancy is based on how many weeks, I have no idea why anyone started saying 9 months. Once you get pregnant, you count back to the 1st day of your last period. 40 weeks from that date is your due date.

this is because in some mths there are 5 weeks and a pregnancy is counted on weeks. meaning 40 weeks right so that equalls the 10 mths that your friend has told you becuse at 20 weeks you are 5 mths so you still have 20 weeks to go 10 mths :)
hope that helps :)

It really is 40 weeks-which means that you carry for the full 9th month so your due date is set as the beginning of the 10th month/end of the 9th month.
I find it to be very confusing to type out so other people can understand so hopefully this makes sense.

It's 40 weeks. There are 4.3 weeks in a month meaning pregnancy lasts 9.3 months- or into the "10th month"
