Alright, so here's the deal:

I'm 15, and involved in my schools NJROTC unit. In March we're having a Military Ball. The guy I'm thinking of taking is currently 19 and a PFC in the Marines. We've been friends for a while, but could go further. The thing is, my 1st sgt will flip out because of the age difference. I know, "Mind his own business." but, I'm still going to get a speech about it.

Any advice? Should I still go with him? Should I not? Is the age difference too much?

Yes, there's the whole "at different stages" thing. And yes, he's stationed far away often times. I'm more of asking if I can take him and it won't be a huge deal.

Perhaps for the dance it would be wise to take a friend your age - just let him know that this is a friend thing.

With the 19 year old, that is a large age difference - at your age. Four years isn't as big of a deal when you're 30, but as teens you're likely in very different places.

If you want to date the 19 year old, take things slowly and don't do anything you're not ready to do.

Good luck!

ask someone from school he can get in trouble if he is seen there. the military has very strict rules on underage dating. date people your own age yes your 1st sgt will flip and with in reason and he will have to report this guy. since its a military nono.save this man a lot of trouble and ask a class mate

It's not that the difference is soo much. It's that he's a legal adult and you aren't. Take him, but not as a date, as a friend.

Good luck!

I think he is too old for you. You shold go to the dance with him and set things straight there.
