I know most of u hate snape becasue he killed Dumbledor ( and Yes Dumbledor is Dead for sure Jk Rowling verified that in a inter view in september i believe) but there is a ton of things to make u think that he is evil but could also mean that he is good. For instance that fact that it is stated that Dumbledor judgement has never been wrong. that right there shows alot. also when Snape did the curses he agreed to help draco and things, which Dumbledor would want anyways. my theory is that Dumbledor made snape to promise to keep his cover no madder what. Which included saying that he will kill Dumbledor if draco couldnt. So Dumbledor might have said even if it means my death. as long as snape can gather more info for the order. That seems like something that Dumbledor would do huh? Anyways so when Snap is standing over Dumbledor and he sayes pleae severus it could mean please dont kill me or my theory please severus stay with the plan. Well i just wanted to know hat u guys thought.

Dumbledore knew the moment he started drinking that green liquid he was dead. The moment he immobilized Harry, he just sealed the deal. After that moment, it was just a toss up of either Snape or Malfoy to me. Malfoy probably would never have killed him, and when the other deatheaters showed up and saw his hesitation I think in the end it came down to protecting one of his students and Snape knew what to do from there. Snape had sway with Voldemort and could smooth things over for Malfoy if Snape killed him, but if one of the other deatheaters had done it, Malfoy would be killed most definitely by Voldemort. Dumbledore's first obligation was always to the school and students. Harry was immobilized due to the fact he would have tried to save Dumbledore, but that would have put his own life at risk, risking the wizarding world. Dumbledore, knowing he was dying anyway, didn't see a need to put that risk on Harry. Snape, being able to do occulemency, might have been able to see what Dumbledore wanted which was for snape to kill him, but I think Snape just used his own intuition to infer that information. At the same time, he could have just been upholding his oath to Narcissa and rather than die himself, he killed Dumbledore instead. I'm leaning more toward him not being so evil, but I still have my reservations.

It's not a question of whether he's evil or not. It's a question of whether he has done what he has willingly. I personally believe that Dumbledore had to die in order for the plot to move, especially regarding Harry's maturity and direct involvement. Dumbledore was the last wall between him and Voldy, so he now has no choice but to look to himself for answers. As to Snape, he obviously protected Draco, who should not be involved due to his lack of maturity. He may have been ordered by Dumbledore to put him at a lower priority and protect the children first. It makes sense.
There is also, of course, the possibility that Snape is under direct control of Voldy.

And I strongly suggest reading the "Mapping the World of Harry Potter" or somesuch, an anthology of essays edited by Mercedes Lackey. It digs deeper into the question of Snape's actions, as well as a lot of other issues.

I LOVE Snape. I totally agree. I think Dumbledore told Snape to kill him if necessary to keep his cover with Voldemort, besides, Dumbledore was dying throughout that last book anyway.

However, I have the feeling we'll only find out Snape was the good guy right before he dies in book 7.

I personally think that Dumbledor was asking Snape to kill him due to the fact that the potion stuff Dumbledor had drank was going to kill Dumbledor anyways. And Snape had all those chances to kill Potter, but never did... I doubt Snape is evil.

I'm not completely sure, but I'm leaning towards he killed Dumbledore under his orders. Besides that, he's dead sexy. ; )
