I have under cabinet lights that are supposed to be able to work with several strung together but if I put even two together the second one doesn't work. Each light does work when plugged in individualy. There is no transformer they just have a direct plug in the wall cord.

only two things will keep it from working. 1. low voltage. 2. no voltage I would swap the first light unit with another to see if it is faulty.

Try plugging a desk lamp you know works ,into the out going receptacle of each under cabinet light fixture that is operating properly. That will tell you if there is a faulty receptacle in one of the fixtures. And it will save you alot of neck pain trying to look under the cabinets to find the problem!

Are these LED (light emitting diodes) if so then polarity may be an issue. Sometimes the transformer can be inline, does packaging have an input/output voltage? Sometimes upon completion a plug or "shunt" may have to be placed in the last light to complete the circuit. If you could send the brand and voltage it would help. Cheers

The only thing that comes to mind. Have you tried putting the 1st one second in line? What I'm getting at is maybe the outlet on the one is bad which is causing all the rest not to have power. Sorry that is all I can think of. If you have a volt meter you can check the outlet on the light.

It could be that the plug you see on the light itself is for small current appliances and when you connect the lights together there just is not enough power to allow the other light fixture to function.

So light A is limiting light B.

If this is not the case the fixtures could be faulty. I'm assuming you have florescent lights, so the ballasts would be inside.

You haven't given enough info for me to help...Maybe go to the manufacturer's website and get help there? Sorry I couldn't help more. I just can't picture exactly what you have there.

It all depends on how they are wired
