just bought a macbook for school, but also want to play games on it

i bet it would but no good games are out for mac the only good ONE is warcraft and that puzzle game with the apple logo

Brand new has nothing to do with it. I can get a brand new computer for $400 and it would not play half the games out there.

But most Mac Book Pros will play any game available for the MAC platform.

If you got a MacBook, it depends on the specs. Look at the game's minimum system requirements.

Yes it will. My Macbook Pro plays games. I just installed Boot Camp and Installed Windows then installed all my games. By the way if you go to www.macworld.com you can find out that there is a addon piece of software called CIDER which makes all PC based games play on MAC native O.S without installing Windows. If you want to find out about their games update then you go to macworld and listen to their latest podcast its named GAMING ROUNDTABLE.
