The system of checks and balances in the American government is a system in which not one branch of government has more control over another. This idea was proposed in the Constitution so that the new nation would not be in jeopardy to becoming a tyranny.

The legislative branch composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives makes the laws. This is checked and balanced by the other two branches: the Executive branch can always veto a bill, or say no to the bill from becoming passed. Also, the Judicial Branch can rule that a law is unconstitutional, or is against one of the Bill of Rights.

The Executive Branch makes sure that the laws are carried out. They have limited power because a lot of things they can do, must be approved by the Senate. For example, the President cannot declare war, but it can send troops overseas for up to ninety days. The Senate can also take back on executive spending if the President and Cabinet members are doing something that is not right.

The Judicial Branch makes sure that all the laws remain constitutional. The President appoints people to be a Justice of the Supreme Court, but it must be approved by the Senate. The Judicial Branch has no power to create laws, just like the Executive Branch.

I hope that this was very helpful to you. :)

Checks and balances, Its a system that keeps one branch of our government from dominating the others, almost every power that the branches of our government have are usually recognized as a check or balance. For example a big check the executive branch has over the legislative, is the President's power to veto bills passed by the congress, a legislative check over the executive branch is the ability to override presidential veto's with a 2/3rd's vote of congress, and the ability to impeach the president. A check the Judicial branch has over the other two branches, is the power of judicial review, meaning that the supreme court can rule actions of the other two branches unconstitutional. Congress checks the judicial branch with the ability to confirm or deny judicial nominations, and to impeach Judges. Their are various other checks and balances, Congress has the majority of them, though most are rarely used because they are usually used as a last resort, like the impeachment of the president, congress's ability to control spending is probably the most used balance.

certain the congress and senate would properly be tests and balances to ability. a thanks to do it although is to get some independents in congress which aren't any further aligned with both area. It takes decrease than 20000 votes to pick a congress guy and in some districts in user-friendly words 7000 votes because maximum human beings do not vote. Vote for the authentic stability vote self reliant.
