I don't know about Kenmore, but if it is equal to Maytag Neptune, it could be worth it. The Neptune is a front loader that uses 1/2 the water and does a great job of cleaning, it is also a bigger capacity washer. The dryer will dry the clothes as fast as the washer washes, so you are not waiting on the dryer to continue washing.

I just bought the Kenmore HE front loader washer and dryer. (about $1100/ washer and $ 800/dryer) It really works (cleans) much better than any washer/dryer I have ever had. It uses far less water and the clothes come out damp. Requires much less time to dry. (saving me water and electricity) I need to have them stacked (another plus) because I am very limited on space in my utility room. So, I am fine with my purchase.

It Kenmore HE was also rated the top washing machine in consumer reports.

Well anyone who has taken a Marketing class will tell you:

"The masses are asses" &
"The consumer sets the price"

Since there are people out there willing to spend the money, companies will charge outrageous prices for their products!

Remember when the first Nike Air Jordan's came out? Who would have thought that anyone in their right mind would pay over $100 for a pair of sneakers? Well, people did!

BTW I also have a Kenmore combo...I believe it was about $1,000 less than the Elite combo...and it works fantastic. Perhaps people like the colors they come in? Not sure buddy!

I don't know the models, because I'm not familiar with Kenmore. However.....
If the washer is a front loader, you're doing about twice as much laundry per load on about 1/4 of the water. That's 8 times more efficient, and heating water is a huge consumer of energy (and water and DOLLARS). Even though a front loader is far more expensive, when you count the dollars over a period of years, it is by far the better bargain. Besides, agitating in a front loader is much easier on your clothes than the agitator in a top loader, and your clothes will last much longer and stay in better shape. Pay now or pay later. I'm as cheap as they come, but I always buy the front loader. In the end, it's the better bargain.

We paid almost $1000 for our washing machine almost 12 years ago.

It is a front loader and at the time it was one of only two brands available at the time.

The are still charging a high premium for these kinds of washers because they are in high demand as people catch on to the savings you realize when you have one.

They use roughly half the water of a regular top loader. Ours heats it's own water on demand when washing hot.

And, even though they use less water, you usually get two washes and three rinses vs only one wash and one rinse from a top loader.

I cannot tell you about dryers though. We don't have one and haven't had one since we've lived in our house.

It has more than paid for itself

It only costs more because it carries the Kenmore brand name. I wouldn't personally pay thet much for a washer and dryer even if I could afford it easily.

the owner is under no criminal duty to pay you for the washer/dryer. If the washer/dryer replaced into assured interior the hire and you in basic terms enable it pass, there is not any longer something you're able to do approximately it now. you could the two sell it to somebody or in basic terms depart it and eat the loss. My dad and mom went for the duration of an identical factor.

Those newer washers with the horizontal wash chamber use less power and less water, and clean better. So they can charge a huge premium.

And lots of them have all sorts of fancy options and settings, and so on. You pay more for that, too.

And, of course, there's the Kenmore name.

Some wealthy people have to spend more on things to feel better than the peasants they push around. That is why we have Million dollar Bugatti cars and $85 Swarovski crystal Starbucks tumblers

That is who the people who make $2,265 washers cater to.
