I assume you are win xp home on both.

Make sure that both computers have file sharing allowed through the firewall.

We really need more specifics if you want a more detailed answer.

The problem is likely a firewall (Microsoft or Other) that is blocking you from "seeing" the PC. Figure out the IP of the desktop by going to Start->Run and type in cmd. Now type in ipconfig and it will tell you the local IP.

Go to the laptop and go to Start->Run and type in cmd. In this window type in ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where all the x's are the IP of the desktop. If all return errors the desktop is not responding at all because of firewall settings.

Adjust your firewall to allow local IP's likely in the 192.168.xxx.xxx range and you should be good.

Good luck

PS you can also try just the computer name in the Start->Run box....by this I mean if your desktop's name is frank, on the laptop type \\frank and see if it can find it.

on the first of march 2010 the Xbox 360 grew to change into self-conscious and released a simultaneous attack on each and each of the PS3's global and the PSN community. The activities that got here about after this date have no longer started to be documented. in case you're taking the date 02/03/10 upload those numbers mutually you get 15. 15 cases the axis that the earth rotates on which on the prompt coincidentally in 24 truly than 23.5 you get? 360.....
