If they're not healthy, then they can't play. I would like to see Dwight Howard start for the East all-stars. He's been playing like monster this season and it would be great if he gets the nod. For the west, I'd say Tim Duncan, but he's only eligible as a forward on the All-Star ballot, which is too bad, since he also plays center. Amare Stoudamire should get the nod it Yao is still recovering from his injury.

Shaq yes, Yao no! The reason is simple and obvious. Yao is was averaging almost 20/10 a game. Those are obvious All-Star numbers. And considering there aren't that many dominate Centers in the league like Yao (yes I know Stoudamire is there and others) but Yao is just getting better and better.
Shaq....ummm, what's he done this year? RIGHT! That's why he doesn't deserve it. Just because you won a ring last year has nothing to do with what you did this year.

no way shaq should play. he will obviously be picked as a starter by votes because what is his competition Eddy curry? dwight howard should be put in his place. cmon now. his reputation is what gets him the votes because he is old and not as dominant anymore. still one of the better centers but not the monster he was.
Yao is having an all star year. this is wierd since the other years he really hasnt had as good of a year as he has this year especially without tmac for a lot of the year. years passed he got in because of the international votes that he gets from asia and all around the world. however he does deserve it this year and if he can play then he should. however they shouldnt upsh it. team comes first and they will need him for second half

Shaq shouldnt because he missed close to 40 games while Yao have like another month to heal. Yao should because he average 20 and being Ming but Shaq lacking off and lost his touch and unhealthy. no. people who say Shaq yes should make it. Should jump off his dick cuz ya ridin it for so long

YES! Even if they aren't hurt anymore, they shouldn't start or play for that matter. They have been hurt for a good chunk of the season & there are soooo many other players so much more deserving to start/play than the bench warmers.
