You have to be 18 to open your own Roth IRA account. But if you're really interest in saving money for the you future, you should talk to your parent(s) about opening an Roth IRAs for Minors (here's a article if you need more info, it is an excellent article: http://www.fairmark.com/rothira/minors.htm). Let your parent(s) read the article so that they have a better understanding of how Roth IRA for minors work...The good news to this is that the account is in your name not your parent(s).
