Every day he gets:

- 20-25 oz of formula/rice cereal mix (he has gerd)

- 2 jars of stage 2 babyfood (1 for lunch, 1 for dinner)

- and sometime maybe an ox of juice. he doesn't get much because i only give it to him in his suppy cup, and he's not into his sippy cup that much yet.

- and the occasional cookie

I feel like I am either giving him too much formula or too much babyfood. What else could he have?

My son is now 10mo. He eats (and has eaten for about 2 mo) the following:

cheerios
gerber 1st food puffs
gerber wagon wheels
scrambled eggs
yogurt
oatmeal
finely chopped fruits like apples and pears
bananas, chopped or pureed
pasta (really well cut up) with only a TINY bit of tomato sauce or it can be covered in alfredo
whole fruit freezer pops - he eats the raspberry ones out of the pack and the rest of us eat the others

By nine months you should be giving your baby minature versions of healthy, balanced meals that you are eating.

Juice should always be watered down (half and half).

You can't give too much. You're baby should stop eating when they feel full.

You should be introducing dry cereal (cheerios), toast, potato, cheese (hard cheese), fruit and veg. Try tiny pieces not always jarred baby food, so your baby learns to appreciate the texture.

This is the time to start introducing lots of different flavours and textures, otherwise it will be difficult to do so later. Your transitioning to a point where they should be relying more on food and less on formula to satisfy hunger and get the nutrients they need.

I barely used sippy cups, it's bad habit to start when baby's can just as easily use a cup. It will make your life so much easier, especially when you are out.

We have friends who don't like their babies getting 'messy', so they use sippy cups and don't empower their kids to use a fork or spoon. Get messy, that's what baths and stain remover are for.

Both of mine used cups at 6 months and spoons and forks, shortly after a year. Give them a chance - they can do it. They're tiny humans and need to be treated as such.

Don't be afraid. Just stay away from choking hazards (nuts, large pieces of food, whole grapes).

GOOD LUCK!

By 9 months our daughter's intake was:

3 8 oz bottles of formula a day (one of those divided),
1/2 jar of fruit with breakfast along with cereal made with 3 oz of formula,
1 total jar of veggies for lunch (usually 1/2 each of two different kinds of veggies),
1 jar of supper,
the occasional teething biscuit and Gerber's Veggie and Fruit Puffs.

At a little more than a year, she's still eating most of this. Her formula intake has decreased, and she mostly eats what we eat for supper.

HTH.

My 8 month old eats three meals day, with two servings of food AND a half-cup of formula at EACH meal. You are NOT feeding your baby enough. Mine has:
breakfast: baby cereal and applesauce; 1/2 cup formula
lunch: jar of veggies and a yo-baby yogurt; 1/2 cup formula
full sippy of formula for after-nap "snack" in the afternoon
dinner: homemade baby food with whatever we had for dinner OR a jar of baby "dinner" and also some kind of fruit, like a mashed banana; 1/2 cup formula

He also eats finger food like Kix and Cheerios, crackers, cookies, shredded cheese.

it would desire to be annoying to locate, yet soy yogurt is large. And it would not even must be breakfast ingredients, your 9mo previous won't care! attempt candy potatoes, avacados, or some meat (like finely chopped or pureed hen) if she likes it. you are able to cut back strips of waffles, french toast or pancakes too. once you're making your own, use entire grain, and sugar-loose syrup. considering your toddler can't have milk, tofu is an outstanding determination for extra protein. some little ones will consume it common, yet you additionally can purchase flavored tofu. check out the e book great toddler nutrition for some large innovations. that's the main suitable e book accessible approximately feeding a toddler to toddler.

There is a gr8 book-Super Baby food. We love it.... check it out & talk to your pediatrician to see what more you can give him. I would think that he could have oatmeal breakfast w/ fruit, fruit & veggies for lunch & dinner(put 1/2 of each jar in a dish to feed him). Along w/ formula to drink & in between.

Soft cooked vegetables such as peas, green beas, and carrots are safe to give your baby. Also, Gerber makes these little star finger foods that are great for snacks. This is the age you should try giving your child foods that they can pick up and feed themselves.
