Don't stress... how big was he when he was born? they typically triple birth weight. my little man is 4 mos.... 16# 26in. He is far from overweight. My 17 yr old was 30# @ yr... He is now 6'1" & 175.... very healthy.

I wouldn't worry too much. My 7 month old son is 29 1/2 inches and 18 lbs 3 oz. His weight is in the 50th percentile and his height was off the chart (I would guess 120th-130th). As tall as your son is not his weight should not be surprising. If he were shorter you should maybe be concerned but I think he is alright. Good Luck!

Some babies measure in different percentiles for their height and weight. There is nothing wrong with your baby being this size. People always tell me how big my daughter is and she is 19 lbs and 30 inches long. Just accept the fact that you have a beautiful healthy baby.

I've always heard that the weight in the first year doesn't matter, as long as he isn't underweight. I live with a friend whose son was 35 lbs and around 30 inches at a year old, he grew up just fine. And she is only 5'0 and weighs 90 lbs. herself, so he was a third of her body weight! As long as he's healthy, don't worry yourself about it and enjoy him while he's little, before he hits those terrible twos! :D

My son was also huge. 90th in height 70th in weight. Talk to his pediatrician. I'm sure he is just fine. Some kids are destine to be tall. As long as you are feeding him baby food he'll be fine. Baby's don't need to diet.
